Swooping Season

It’s swooping season in Canberra. This is where the partners of nesting Magpies come out to protect their territory by swooping passing cyclists (that’s me), and pedestrians. I remember the first time I came to Canberra and passed a fellow on the street with an ice cream container on his head, now I know why. I’m sure I looked very strange yelling “don’t you do it!” at the only swooping bird on my route. He’s very persistent and just a little bit scary.
