Macaroons free clip art images

I had to do it! For my previous macaroon post I searched high and low for the perfect (creative commons) picture. I had completely forgotten about these gorgeous images from Pugly Pixel that I downloaded a few weeks ago. There is enough singles, stacks, profiles and macaroons with bites out of them to tempt the most discerning palette. Since tomorrow is farmer’s market day I think I may have to buy some to round off my macaroon obsessed week.

This is probably not my favourite end of the green spectrum but I do like the versatility of olive green. The etsy colour search doesn’t really deal very well with this colour in either the new or the old search tool. My keyword search yielded many variations on the colour but here’s what I found:

TOP: Palace of Darning’s Olive Green Poncho. I think this would be so nice to wear in those in-between seasons. I’m a big fan of pashminas and wraps and I’m sure I could become a poncho fan. Could you?
MIDDLE: Eight Season’s Little Pod for iPod. I really love this (although this one is reserved). I like the appliqued leather it adds a lot of texture. I also go out of my way to find unusual cases for my iPhone and this definitely fits the bill.
BOTTOM: Tiny Modernist’s – Cool Cross Stitch Pattern Vintage Typewriter. I really love cross stitch and have a very large one I’ve almost finished that I started many years ago. My mother actually completes hers and they are hanging all over her house. I love this vintage typewriter which I don’t think would take as long to do. She sends you the pattern, a picture and a thread list. What a great idea. Oh and there’s also an Egg Chair pattern so I’m officially a fan.

A few weeks ago my parents were visiting and my mother declared that ‘macaroons are the new cup cake’. That’s funny I thought and dragged out the Wednesday Canberra Times Food & Wine magazine with a cover photo of, you guessed it, macaroons. Does this happen to you? You become aware of something and then you start seeing them everywhere. The makers of the cover picture macaroons, as it happens, sell at the EPIC farmers market that I visit each Saturday morning. So I thought I would buy some and see what all the fuss was about. It turns out the fuss is very underrated and last week I had to physically remove myself from the macaroon seller in favour of both budget and waistline. They are divine and I’m sure I will now find any cause for celebration by buying a macaroon.

Star Bags - The Mimi Dark Green with Yellow Leather Straps and Vintage Doily

Phydeaux Designs - Filigree Buttons

Star Pom Pom - Colorful Green Flower Lariat Scarflette

I love green, but I think you already know that. It’s a colour that just attracts me. I wear it, I eat off it (placemats) and I even walk on it (rug). So finding three and only three for dark green has been a mammoth task for the person that does not like to eliminate anything that is green and pretty. Here’s what I found:

TOP: Star Bag’s – The Mimi Bag- Dark Green with Yellow Leather Straps and Vintage Doily. OK the bag is really cute, do you agree? It’s also very patriotic given that Australia’s national colours are green and gold. But what I really love are the striped knee high socks!
MIDDLE: Phydeaux Design’s – Filigree Buttons. My mother recently made me a cardigan made out of possum wool (from New Zealand). It’s incredibly warm and what we both wanted to complete the project was hand made buttons. We looked everywhere and couldn’t find anything. These would have been perfect. This store also does knitting patterns.
BOTTOM: Star Pompon – Colorful Green Flower Lariat Scarflette. I love that crochet is having a resurgence. My grandmother did such beautiful crochet and I’m sure she would smile to see her craft is still alive and well. I also love these lariats but haven’t ever tried to wear one. What about you?
