Colour Me Happy Wednesday :: Red

Tree of Life

Set of 4 Small and Colourful Prep Bowls

The Guest - Typewriter Photograph

The richness that is red. The Etsy colour search tools weren’t really my friends today so I relied on the keyword search which yeilded 8456 results!! So much talent to choose from but here are three that took my eye.

TOP: Jewish Pop Art’s Tree of Life. I just love the colours, they harp back to the pop art era so deftly. I also love the motivation behind this talented artist; to take timeless Judaic and Chassidic images and meld them with the modern and vibrant.
MIDDLE: Lynn Cardwell Pottery’s 4 Small and Colourful Prep Bowls. Aren’t these gorgeous? I very nearly majored in ceramics when I was at Art School but didn’t because I found it too therapeutic – I know that’s a strange reason not to pursue an art form. I love buying ceramics both traditional and modern. I could think of many uses for these lovely bowls.
BOTTOM: Sixth and Main’s The Guest – Typewriter Photograph. I love images like this, I find them hauntingly beautiful. They leave me asking many questions like who was sitting there? What were they typing? Was it a love letter, a best selling novel or a shopping list? It does, of course, help that this photo features a chair. You know how I feel about chairs.

P.S. I have a confession – by the time you are reading this I will be playing in the snow with the cyclist and my little men. I love the ability to schedule a post in WordPress.

The tree picture is awesome. For all the reasons you said. And I like the color blocks because they give a feel of the passage of time, the changing of seasons.

The bowl are great. They look nice and heavy. I love things with weight to them.

As for the chair. Beautiful. The low back looks comfy and like it would promote better posture. And I love the typewriter. My grandmother had one that I used to use. You know, back before everyone had three computers in their houses. The click clack of the keys, the ding of the return. Oh, so relaxing.

Thanks for that great memory today.
