Free Macaroon Clip Art from Pugly Pixel

Macaroons free clip art images

I had to do it! For my previous macaroon post I searched high and low for the perfect (creative commons) picture. I had completely forgotten about these gorgeous images from Pugly Pixel that I downloaded a few weeks ago. There is enough singles, stacks, profiles and macaroons with bites out of them to tempt the most discerning palette. Since tomorrow is farmer’s market day I think I may have to buy some to round off my macaroon obsessed week.

A Taste of France

July is the month that has almost all of the Heasman family glued to the Tour de France – or the last 10km of each stage at least. With Bastille Day over for another year I started to think of all things French. These are from one of my favourite online stores – French Bazaar. A place in Australia for quirky French homewares. I especially like the la vie est verte shopping trolley and think I would definitely stand out at the Saturday morning farmers market with that one. The bottom picture is of paper placemats – which could be very useful in our house.

A Little More Sombre

It’s been just over a week since many parts of Victoria started to burn. It’s been impossible to escape these images and stories and while I am not personally affected I cannot but feel deeply for fellow Australians who have lost family, friends, property, possessions and whole townships. I would like to give credit to the people who captured these images but they are just two of many that are circling the internet. The bottom image shows “Elvis” a water bombing helicopter and according to my colleague it was a welcome sound during the Canberra bushfires of 2003. If you can make a donation to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

Flickr by Colour

This one is courtesy of Idée – a little tool that allows you to look at over 10millions Flickr photos by colour. You can select up to 10 colours and it will display pages thumbnails based on your choice. I went for a green hue, of course, and then added a pink to the mix! Click on any of the thumbnails to go to the original. I have no idea what this would be good for but what a great time waster.

A New Favourite

I believe I have found my new favourite chocolate. Every Thursday my youngest and I have an outing together to the local produce market. After buying fruit (mostly) we stop by the organic cafe for a latte (me), babychino (him) and banana bread. Over the last few weeks or maybe months I’ve been sampling their organic chocolate range. I love dark chocolate and can make a block last a whole week and sometimes more – impressive huh? This has been my recent find, Green and Black’s Organic Maya Gold – it’s got just a little hint of orange and spices that makes it taste amazing. If you want to read the Green and Black’s story go to Craig Sams Homepage.

Love Libby

I stumbled upon these cute little bags this year at Floriade (our annual tulip festival). I think the name is brilliant – but that’s too obvious. You can check out Love Libby at her website. Choose your bag, then, if you can, choose your fabric the choice is so great that you will probably find it difficult. I love the lingerie fabric (top left) and I do have a thing for stars and hearts!
