  • About MeHi, I’m Libby, thanks for stopping by. In a nutshell I’m wife to a very supportive husband aka the cyclist. I’m mum to  2 energetic boys, the jolly monkey (8) and the little one (6). I’m a part-time graphic design/business student, art school graduate, web nerd and self professed coffee snob. I reside in Australia’s capital having moved here from Atlanta Georgia and I still get nostalgic for southern USA life – I don’t think the cyclist feels the same. My blog started in 2007 after falling victim to a swooping bird. Mostly I document what inspires me which will usually have something to do with colour, design, fabric or handmade. Sometimes I pull out my soapbox for a rant – but not very often. My blog name is an homage to the inexact science of weather prediction, for which I have a strange fascination. I have a job that takes up 3 days of my week and in my ‘free’ time between hanging out with my little men and studying I also develop Wordpress sites for small businesses. Here’s a sample of my work: Signing Stars Heavenly Home Services Creatively Belle Handmade Jewellery Lifestyle Fitness Training Excel Australia Totom…

My work as both User Experience Consultant and theme developer allows me to keep track of trends in web design. I guess I’m fortunate to see what’s going on in corporate sites and also in independent and niche sites. I’ve been really enjoying the watercolour trend that has been around for quite a while now.…

I know it’s strange to be thinking about summer since autumn has arrived and also seeing as I’m not a big fan of summer. Before I dropped out of the class this week (the same one that had me on a treasure hunt) I had made a start on the next workshop. We had to…

The instruction from our lecturer was this – ‘Find/glean/imagine/gather/scavenge/ locate/borrow/steal/ download these images as you wish from ANY source’. The images had to number 30 and we were given a list 50 things/objects to choose from e.g. a dog. Then we had to assemble it into a book made from 6 large sheets of glasseine…

Today would have been my mother’s 81st birthday. There is not a day when I don’t think of her with either extreme sadness and loss or with a smile in my heart. I suspect her absence will always be felt and I count my blessings that I had such a person in my life. It…

Today (actually I think it’s tomorrow) Canberra is celebrating its 100th birthday. For residents this has been a great time of celebration and reflection and for us newcomers it’s been an opportunity to learn its history. A city that was born out of solving an argument between Sydney and Melbourne about which location should be…
