  • About MeHi, I’m Libby, thanks for stopping by. In a nutshell I’m wife to a very supportive husband aka the cyclist. I’m mum to  2 energetic boys, the jolly monkey (8) and the little one (6). I’m a part-time graphic design/business student, art school graduate, web nerd and self professed coffee snob. I reside in Australia’s capital having moved here from Atlanta Georgia and I still get nostalgic for southern USA life – I don’t think the cyclist feels the same. My blog started in 2007 after falling victim to a swooping bird. Mostly I document what inspires me which will usually have something to do with colour, design, fabric or handmade. Sometimes I pull out my soapbox for a rant – but not very often. My blog name is an homage to the inexact science of weather prediction, for which I have a strange fascination. I have a job that takes up 3 days of my week and in my ‘free’ time between hanging out with my little men and studying I also develop Wordpress sites for small businesses. Here’s a sample of my work: Signing Stars Heavenly Home Services Creatively Belle Handmade Jewellery Lifestyle Fitness Training Excel Australia Totom…

I’m not sure why I’m thinking of spring since autumn is approaching for us. I have, however, been thinking of seeds and pods this week ever since picking up a gorgeous tree pod when we were on the beach. I guess these thoughts somehow led me to this gorgeous photo Garden: 0919, Day Lilly by Andy…

I stumbled across a collection of vintage feedsack clipart that I’d downloaded from Pugly Pixel (which I wanted to link to but couldn’t find it on her site) and I seem to have been pondering small print fabrics ever since. I first became aware of feedsack fabrics when we moved to Atlanta, which also coincided…

and I will show you the man. If you remember I did a similar post when my jolly monkey turned 7. Well the little one turns 7 today and thanks to this Jesuit motto it’s been looming on the horizon like some kind of use by date for me to get all my influence in…

We’ve just returned from here and it rained but we swam in the sea with giant stingrays passing by, were greeted by lazy kangaroos each morning, fed King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas and even ducks, went exploring the headlands and shell covered bays, rode bikes, ate ice cream, rescued frogs from the swimming pool and…

I love web fonts, they have revolutionised what web designers can do with typography in designs. Cufón, Typekit and sIFR have all made our task a little easier and our designs a lot more interesting. Then there’s Google Webfonts who, at last count, have 436 fonts available for use. They’re easy to implement and your…

Yes it’s Australia Day! The F18 have already done their flyover and the cyclist has done his annual 50km coffee ride with some of his cycling buddies. The boys are chilling out with their projects, one which is us attempting to make lamingtons by following this recipe. So all in all a typical Australia Day…
