  • About MeHi, I’m Libby, thanks for stopping by. In a nutshell I’m wife to a very supportive husband aka the cyclist. I’m mum to  2 energetic boys, the jolly monkey (8) and the little one (6). I’m a part-time graphic design/business student, art school graduate, web nerd and self professed coffee snob. I reside in Australia’s capital having moved here from Atlanta Georgia and I still get nostalgic for southern USA life – I don’t think the cyclist feels the same. My blog started in 2007 after falling victim to a swooping bird. Mostly I document what inspires me which will usually have something to do with colour, design, fabric or handmade. Sometimes I pull out my soapbox for a rant – but not very often. My blog name is an homage to the inexact science of weather prediction, for which I have a strange fascination. I have a job that takes up 3 days of my week and in my ‘free’ time between hanging out with my little men and studying I also develop Wordpress sites for small businesses. Here’s a sample of my work: Signing Stars Heavenly Home Services Creatively Belle Handmade Jewellery Lifestyle Fitness Training Excel Australia Totom…

In the last few weeks I have found myself saying, out loud I might add, that I wish I had a bigger ego. That’s not really what I mean but I’ve just noticed some people out there seem to gain success by nothing more than over self promotion. One of the things I love about…

I have an odd obsession with chairs and given the chance our house would be full of them. The cyclist is probably happy that I have not acted on that impulse. I pretty sure when I first laid my eyes on The Stamford chair from Squint Limited my first words were ‘Oh my!’. It’s amazing…

This adorable picture called Crochet Flowers by Carina Envoldsen-Harris was the source of my palette inspiration today. They just reminded me of spring flowers climbing a trellis. Of course after yesterday’s post I had to make a trellis pattern or two of my own so here are my patterns: Thinking in Circles (top), which I…

I have such an eye for lattice/trellis patterns at the moment. I think in general I like patterns that make me look at the negative space as well. I’m very aware that all my selections today are cushions and this is because my vintage fabric cushion cover that I blogged about in January 2008, has…

I have been working on this for a while and I’m so happy to show you my first free WordPress theme, called Kiiroi, which means yellow in Japanese. This has been an ambition of mine for a while now to combine my love of blogging and my love of web design. Last year, after getting…

People who know me well know that I’m not a fan of New Year’s Day… just as I’m not a fan of the first page of a book. I have no clue what it is but I always feel happier when the 2nd of January rolls around and when I turn to page 2. Maybe…

We had Christmas away this year – just an hour east to my brother and his family and Christmas lunch saw the whole family together. I’m sure we all stopped and paused to remember my Mum and we all felt her absence. While we were away the four of us went for a bush walk…
