  • About MeHi, I’m Libby, thanks for stopping by. In a nutshell I’m wife to a very supportive husband aka the cyclist. I’m mum to  2 energetic boys, the jolly monkey (8) and the little one (6). I’m a part-time graphic design/business student, art school graduate, web nerd and self professed coffee snob. I reside in Australia’s capital having moved here from Atlanta Georgia and I still get nostalgic for southern USA life – I don’t think the cyclist feels the same. My blog started in 2007 after falling victim to a swooping bird. Mostly I document what inspires me which will usually have something to do with colour, design, fabric or handmade. Sometimes I pull out my soapbox for a rant – but not very often. My blog name is an homage to the inexact science of weather prediction, for which I have a strange fascination. I have a job that takes up 3 days of my week and in my ‘free’ time between hanging out with my little men and studying I also develop Wordpress sites for small businesses. Here’s a sample of my work: Signing Stars Heavenly Home Services Creatively Belle Handmade Jewellery Lifestyle Fitness Training Excel Australia Totom…

I will add to these as I discover more treasures but for the moment these are my cannot live without list. I really hope you enjoy my selections and yes, if you’re wondering, I earn a referral fee when you buy from here.

Do you want to know what else I suck at? Collage. I have never mastered the random placement of seemingly unrelated images into a unified whole. Yet, I really love collage when it is done well. Do you suppose there is a technique? Or is it just pure talent? Unfortunately for me, creating a collage…

I promised I would share these with you and I’m starting to think you’ll be sorry you asked to see them because my photos suck really badly. Oh my – this was the best of a very bad bunch so it will be back to the camera for me if for no other reason that…

Did you notice? Current Observations has undergone a little facelift. It happens about once a year – the inspiration starts slowly and then bubbles along for a few weeks until I finally give in to the endless stream of ideas in my head and commit something to code. This time around has been a little…

I want to share with you my latest theme. It’s called Midori (means green in Japanese) and it was inspired by both this gorgeous photo called ‘love to you all’ by kellijhoskins and also by a barcode. Who knew a barcode could be so inspiring? I created the barcode stripes months ago but I really…

There has still been nothing resembling a sunny day today, my one opportunity to photograph and show you my finished printed fabric *sigh*. But I can show you my original drawing and a method that I’ve been playing around with since the snowflake obsession of last year. I’ve been quite obsessed with tree pods lately…

I have printing on the brain this week after day 2 of my screen printing workshop – I promise I’ll share the results with you soon but first I really want to share the work of  Magali Dincher from Beau Est Mien. Magali is a self-taught printmaker, teacher, and owner of the creative business Beau…
